The uMI 510 combines positron emission tomography (PET) with computed tomography (CT). Compared to conventional systems, both the radioactive tracers and the X-ray dose are reduced by more than 50 per cent. Its ultra-fast scan speed minimises the time patients have to spend in the tunnel, which equates to less stress, especially for those suffering from claustrophobia. The warm ambient light enhances relaxation further. The patient table contains sensors that ensure collision-free operation.
