The first low-floor metro-tram of the Rheinbahn AG will be employed for underground and surface traffic. The one-direction vehicle in rear-to-rear traction serves as bidirectional vehicle. Hence the low-floor metro-tram is equipped with doors, information displays and exterior lighting on either side of the tram. Characteristic design elements are the curved sides of the vehicle’s front module. These provide the space for the bogie, which is positioned below. The homogeneous integration of functional components such as coupling cover, lighting or openings for maintenance supports the clarity of the overall design.
