The FXS sensor is an amplifier for optic fiber used to detect and inspect products on automated assembly lines. Functioning is based on emission and reception of light reflected by the object. The sensor incorporates lenses to amplify light signals and raise sensitivity. The design includes display visualization, indicating the intensity of reflected light, with several LEDs monitoring functioning without the need to remove the transparent cover protecting the controls. The sensor also includes a quick-action clamp for the fiber optic and electrical connection by cable or connector.
