The Hilti BX 3 is the world’s first battery-powered direct fastening tool! It’s capable of driving nails reliably in all relevant materials such as concrete, steel, sand-lime block and solid brick. This new technology presents a tremendous design challenge. The casing, for example, encloses the motor, tensioning belt and springs in an unusually asymmetrical but perfectly balanced and application-oriented form. It was nevertheless possible to keep the tool’s dimensions and weight at a minimum.
