Waterproof automation devices are usually made with potting materials such as epoxy. This cannot be recycled. We searched for a more sustainable solution and found that we can seal our PDP67 devices in a special injection molding process with a translucent recyclable thermoplastic. Thus, we also got rid of some design limitations which necessarily come with the potting process – design in a technical and an esthetical sense: we not only produce the devices much faster and more reliably, but we could also let them have forms, colors and haptics which integrate technical functionalities and clearly represent our unique corporate design.
