The new Cultural Center is part of the one million square meter development of the Beicheng Central Park residential area. In the early stage, it has served as a demonstration center, while later on it will serve as a library and children's education center. The challenge was how to form a distinctive and powerful city interface to correspond with the immense city park and to create a field of unique experiences. The concept "ambiguous boundary" is used to create a new architectural prototype for the definition of courtyard space. It is corridor composed of a short wall, with combination of different forms and modules, creating a diverse definition for courtyard space and a complex spatial experience.
