QR Code is a type of two-dimensional barcode. It was developed by DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED (a division of DENSO CORPORATION at the time of its development) and released in 1994. "Easy-to-read" was the key. QR Code has dramatically increased the amount of information stored by storing data in two directions, vertically and horizontally, while barcode stores data in one direction.
