The Ginkgo Chair is a plywood chair designed for both domestic and public uses. The seat and back are made of the same mold and connected with butterfly tenons. The gap between two plywood boards allows the legs to come through and makes the chair stackable. The wrapped feel provided by the Ginkgo chair is rare to find in other plywood chairs. Most shell-shaped chairs on the market are made of plastic, but customers prefer the warm and comfortable feel of wood. Plastic can cause many environmental issues; with Ginkgo we hope to reduce the use of plastics by replacing them with plywood.
