This mouthpiece minimises the risk of droplet infection during endoscopic examinations. It was developed in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic to protect medical personnel from possible infection with the virus by patients. An integrated sponge rubber absorbs the aerosols from the patient’s oral cavity, thus preventing them from spreading. The part to be inserted is designed in such a way that there are no gaps between the mouthpiece and the endoscope.
