Carrying babies close to the body is both practical and strengthens the bond between parents and child. The design of the Konny Baby Carrier set out in 2017 to develop a new baby carrier from scratch. One of the main differences to competing products is that this carrier can be easily slipped on like a T-shirt. The SUMMER version differs from the original product in that it is specifically optimised for use in warm weather. The biggest challenge in the development process was to find a fabric that is as comfortable and resilient as the originally chosen fabric, but at the same time introduces additional properties such as breathability and UV protection. Since such a fabric did not yet exist, it was newly created in a months-long research and development process. The result is an innovative soft air mesh fabric made of a polyester/elastane blend with four-way stretch that is ultra-lightweight, breathable and has moisture-wicking properties. In addition, this fabric also offers 85 per cent UV protection and is antibacterial. The Konny Baby Carrier SUMMER is made entirely from this new type of mesh fabric. The breathable and cooling material absorbs sweat and discharges it towards the outside. The baby carrier is easy to slip on and features an ergonomic design that evenly distributes the baby’s weight and supports a healthy hip development.
