Intended to be hip, fun and playful, the HP Chromebook 14 utilizes a bold use of satin sparkle color on its clean and simple chassis. The materials and processes involved in fabricating the HP Chromebook 14, utilize efficient part economy. Instead of using two parts to create the notebook's basepan and sideband, designers combined them into a single part that reduced the number of parts and created a sturdier frame. The outer housing is made from an engineered colored resin coated with a unique sparkle satin finish. The final effect was a soft silk-like surface that enhances the feel of the product while creating “gripability” for the mobile user.
