"Ming" ID Design: Unique transparent flip design. The earpiece driver (acoustic function) is wrapped around by mechanical elements and incorporating the Motorola logo and the whole sub-assembly is embedded within the transparent flip lid. Two thin wires are embedded into the flip and connect the earpiece to the main PCB board via routing through the hinge. ME Challenge: To produce a totally clear flip that appears to be just one piece, without the need for screws or other fastenings that would detract from the image. The design also is required to meet strict requirements for acoustic and electrical performance, as well as manufacturability.
