Finnish design legend Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of Iittala glass birds took flight in 1972. Combining his passion for nature and blown glass art, each bird is unique down to the minute detail. This gives every bird its own personality making it a truly one of a kind art object. Mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory, the collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions and Toikka’s hands-on-approach with his team. Birds by Toikka Kuulas uses a monochromatic Seville orange colored glass to showcase the bird’s adorable, plump body. Its flat paddle tail and teardrop head are made of contrasting clear glass.
