The Scarlet Lion and the Black Whale are coffee blends reimagined as iconic animals in the wild, presented by Baskin-Robbins Korea as playful personifications of its two newest flavors. The character designs have a resonating familiarity; not in the least because they were collaborations with Laurent Moreau, the widely enjoyed illustrator of children’s graphic novels. Scarlet Lion conjures up visions of the vast Serengeti, a blend of rich and untamed earthen flavors of Uganda, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Black Whale draws inspiration from the depths, a calmly balanced concoction of unwavering flavors from Indonesia, Ethiopia, and Brazil.
