Each year, many tons of old carpet tiles are removed from buildings and dumped into the ocean, while large numbers of old nylon fishing nets are also scrapped at sea. The designers took these two major sources of marine plastic waste and developed “Mode Style” carpet tiles. The goal is to completely recycle scrapped carpet tiles into new products and create a new organization to work with other manufacturers to cut the flow of marine waste to zero.
