Edan iM3s vital signs monitor is a powerful hand-held scanner for clinical professionals to scan, assess, and communicate patient data from various departments to the hospital’s central information system via WiFi. The built-in barcode scanner acquires patient records while the one-key infrared scanner takes the patient’s temperature on the spot. The design features Edan’s layered design language to create a thin profiled form with a concave central layer for positive user feel in the hand. The product design focused on minimizing visual information and creating a solid construction using minimal materials.
