This series of writing instruments implements, presented by METAPHYS, was built on a concept by the engineering and styling designers who required a mechanical pencil with a fine eraser that could be used for partial erasing. A ball-point pen was also essential for use in filling out various kinds of official papers. The result is this 3-way pen that is the first in the world to have these three functions as well as the world's smallest eraser, with a 2-mm diameter. The eraser can be used as a stylus on touch-panel PDAs and mobile phones. The 2-mm Lead Holder Pen uses a chuck mechanism to enable use like an ordinary mechanical pencil without having to be concerned about the lead falling out. The pen is designed to display the clip when the pen is placed in a chest pocket, highlighting its shape as an icon representative of METAPHYS writing instruments, and deliberately identifying this as part of a product series.
