The only types of protectors for CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs that are presently available are either pouches or cases, and this product was designed and manufactured to be used as a cover of minimum size that would protect the recording surface. As optical discs have been evolving in recent years from CDs to DVDs and beyond, the recording layers are tending to be separated from the label. This "prote" provides improved durability from the label side, and in combination with the disc, it is anticipated to lead to new ways of using optical discs.
