The redesigned iPod nano music player is characterised by a square multi-touch display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. The display spans across the entire front side, thus representing the only interface for the user. Operating the player is very simple: the user navigates through the music collection with a tap or a swipe of the finger. Compared to the previous model, it is merely half the size and weight and rests featherlight in the user’s hand. The surface of the nano consists of polished aluminium and a glass enclosure, turning this small music player into a palm pleaser. The backside includes a clip firmly connected to the housing with which the player may be attached to a bag, belt, or a strap. Different options for managing the user’s music collection are available: for instance, it is possible to automatically compile songs that go together well, or to create individual playlists. An FM radio is also included. Both the 8 GB and 16 GB models are available in seven colours.
