This innovative low-floor tram was developed especially for the town of Bern with its particular tight curve radii and for use in pedestrian zones. Driver safety and pedestrian protection were important aspects for the design. The design concept is based on typical Swiss values such as quality, consistency and innovation. Thanks to its special form language, the Combino has a dynamic, elegant and high-quality appeal. The interior was consciously designed in quiet and neutral colours to convey a feeling of safety to passengers. The view is directed to the distinctive red handrails that are intelligently positioned to improve passenger flow.
