The HY/RD is a hybrid mechanical-hydraulic disc brake for road and cyclocross bikes. Its special advantage is that it does not overheat when used in combination with carbon fibre rims on long downhill runs. By positioning a cable-actuated lever arm and a hydraulic master cylinder at the disc brake calliper, the HY/RD can be linked by a traditional brake cable to any standard brake lever.
