The artistic intention behind this design was to establish a link to wickerwork craftsmanship. The rug hints at a ribbon or braided relief embedded into the textile surface. The complex relief structure, which follows a geometrical principle, creates light and shade modulations. In combination with high-quality, natural yarn the result is a carpet sculpture that appears three-dimensional.
