Vetter-Ject is a closure system for pre-filled syringes. It consists of a piston that is crafted from three different plastic components and the steel injection needle glued inside. The piston with the needle is attached to a syringe and serves, for one, as a safety catch, but also as an indicator that the syringe is unused. The closure system’s grey plastic component is permeable so that the superheated steam reaches the needle during the sterilisation process. At the same time, the material functions as a non-slip layer when opening the closure system.
