The Velaro is a high-speed train which is certificated in conformity with TSI standard and combines innovative technology with contemporary design. At speeds up to 400 km/h, complex crash absorbers increase the safety of the passengers. Furthermore, special attention was paid to environmental impact, so that the Velaro has an optimised cd value, consumes 20 per cent less energy and is 97 per cent recyclable. Thanks to the platform concept, the interior can be flexibly designed. For this conception, the needs of passengers with reduced mobility have been taken into consideration.
