The IPS integrated pressure sensor is used in tube systems for blood circuits that are outside of the body, such as in heart-lung machines. Due to the fact that the sensor surface is integrated directly into the tubing wall, blood leakage and dead spaces are prevented. An innovative over-moulding process ensures reliable sealing. The casting material developed especially for this application is biocompatible and sterilisable. The gap at the back of the housing serves as an inspection window.
