The occupant cell which is located far forward in the new Audi R8, its strongly emphasised wheel arches and the long back recall the Le Mans racing car R 18 e-tron quattro and thus underpin the R8’s proximity to racing. The most eye-catching element of the interior is the “monoposto”: The large, contoured arch encircles the area in front of the driver and conveys the feeling of a racing car cockpit. The operating concept focuses on the driver; all important functions are within easy reach. The instrument panel has a lean and lightweight look.
