The care robot Lea (Lean Empowering Assistant) enables the elderly to remain active and independent in their own homes. She helps users to train their physical fitness and maintain a daily routine, for instance by reminding them to take their medication. Despite her artificial intelligence, Lea does not look intimidating. She interacts via a technical interface that works like a tablet PC. The design is based on that of a rollator, which conveys a sense of familiarity.
