The design of the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon is defined by a slim wedge shape, an extremely narrow bezel and a small footprint. The carbon-fibre-reinforced body with a protective frame of magnesium alloy can withstand extreme conditions. It was tested against twelve military-grade requirements and is splashproof as well as resistant to impact and vibration. Thanks to its materials, the notebook is nevertheless especially lightweight. The classic ThinkPad look with red accents and a black silhouette is retained, in this version, however, with a more refined, modernised expression.
