The Nelson Piquet is a sporty, two-pusher automatic chronograph developed in partnership with the three-time Formula One champion. The watch therefore features several decorations from racing sports, including pushers engraved with a finishing-line chequered motif, Piquet’s signature at 5 o’clock, and display-back engravings conjuring up images of this legendary driver’s performance on the track. The bezel is made of steel and carbon fibre and features a tachymeter scale. The dial background is engraved with a pattern of elongated straight lines evocative of radiator grilles on the bodywork of traditional racing cars. The watch strap is made of rubber – as is fitting for the motor sports image. The rhodium-plated hour and minute hands are highly legible against the blue backdrop, and they glow in the dark.
