The distinctive rear emphasises the width of the BMW 2 Series Coupe through its strict horizontal alignment; a spoiler lip at the boot lid emphasises the athletic character. Due to the optical interaction between tailpipes and the confined lower rear end, the car seems to lie lower on the road. The roofline follows on into the boot lid and characterises the dynamic silhouette.
