In our globalised world, it is not too uncommon a sight anymore that people are working together despite being at very different locations, constantly exchanging information and developing ideas. Against this backdrop, Jamboard opens up new ways toward interaction across distance. Its design merges the advantages of time-proven whiteboards as used in offices with the possibilities offered by the latest technology. The aim of the design was to use the analogue familiarity of the whiteboard for a comfortable interface by combining it with digital convenience. Thus, as natural to use as a traditional whiteboard, Jamboard connects directly with another Jamboard via the Internet. This allows teams to jot down notes, sketch out plans or frame up ideas collaboratively. All Jamboard actions are rendered interactively and delivered in real time, independent of where team members are located. Jamboard thus delivers the ability to collaborate as if all co-workers were in the same room. The form and materials have been chosen to suit both the environment it is used in and the functionality it offers.
