The design of the NF-2 pen set out to achieve a good balance between manufacturing, material consumption and aesthetics. What makes the pen stand out is the ergonomic construction of the grip section. This was created with two tangent planes of the same curvature in order to reduce the symptoms of fatigue that can arise when a pen is held over longer periods of time. A further benefit of this design is that the pen cannot accidentally roll off the table. The refill can be drawn back into the barrel of the pen by rotating the rear section.
