Damp coffee grains release methane, a greenhouse gas that harms the earth’s atmosphere more than CO₂. In order to address this issue, XpreSole uses spent coffee grounds combined with natural rubber as a midsole material. The recycled grounds provide softness for the sole, while also preventing perspiration and unpleasant smells. The pressure on the foot is evenly distributed by means of a responsive plantar design, which uses 114 elastic pillars in the outsole.
