The new MacBook Air is slimmer and even lighter than its predecessor: it weighs only 1.25 kg, at a thickness of just 15.6 mm, and has an enclosure made completely of recycled aluminium. It is equipped with new functions first pioneered on the MacBook and MacBook Pro, including a Retina display, Touch ID, the third-generation Apple designed keyboard and a Force Touch trackpad. In addition, it includes the versatile and high-speed Thunderbolt 3 port and the Apple T2 Security Chip for enhanced data security. The sound quality was improved as well to enable a more immersive audio experience. The device is available in the contemporary colours of gold, space grey and silver.
