Flexity Zurich is a tram commissioned by Zurich public transport operator VBZ. The airy passenger spaces with large windows offer plenty of room. USB ports and hooks at the seats provide additional convenience. The high window front of the Flexity offers a wide-angle view of the city and is inspired by the Zurich tram shelters of the 1930s. On the other hand, the ergonomically shaped beech wood seats are a homage to a tram from the 1960s. A LED passenger guiding system, which is visible from afar, is integrated into the tram’s exterior design: it lights up white when the doors are open and changes to orange before the doors close.
