The design research team was charged to take an in-depth look at warehouse order picking from the viewpoints of the worker, customer and supply chain to generate knowledge to drive future design innovations. Lab testing and field studies resulted in substantial change to a common distribution center task—a new application of technology that improves the worker experience and delivers value to the customer. The patented QuickPick® Remote emerged from the research.
