The new Dell Edge Gateway 5000 is a small Internet of Things (IoT) device that collects, secures, analyzes and acts on data from multiple dissimilar devices and sensors. Equipped with processing power, the Gateway communicates meaningful data to back-end systems in the cloud, control room or data center. It's equipped with processing power and provides flexibility to perform analytics throughout an IoT ecosystem, especially at the edge of a distributed network—closer to the devices and sensors. Like servers and routers, it’s designed to run 24/7 and operate in headless fashion without regular human interaction.
