Uses 24-ounce canvas cloth, the same thickness as when it first went on sale in 1944. The side panels are sewn together using sturdy nylon thread and a double stitch. The bottom of the bag is made in two layers of cloth for even more durability. Even today, it is handmade one at a time in a company-owned factory in the US state of Maine.
