The SMAT-8E is a position transmitter in a very robust design for path detection on pneumatic drives. In industrial automation, there are many applications in which the path of a drive piston must be continuously determined. For a number of applications, such as clamping, pressing, detecting objects and wear detection, analogue reporting one part of the stroke is sufficient. Therefore the SMAT-8E has a working range of 50 mm. It can be mounted in any T-slot cylinder. The customer must only establish the connection with the PLC. Two integrated LEDs indicate the operating status and an out-of-range position and can be easily determined from a distance because of their enlarged lighting surface area. The shape supports the linear nature of the applications.
