"Medicine is measure." In everyday life, doctors take countless measurements: of patients, ECG-printouts, and X-ray images. The data must first be processed, then recorded, and finally saved. As a result, in the few pockets of a doctor's coat you will find a whole collection of devices, such as a goniometer, sliding gage, measuring tape, measuring compass, stopwatch, tables, flashlight, dictaphone etc. The idea behind this project is to integrate these different functions into one hand-held, digital measuring device. This would not only simplify data collection, it would also fill the missing link in the electronic data processing chain in hospitals. The ergonomic and information technological design of the device should make it a kind of easily usable and understandable "Swiss army knife" for doctors.
