"Grandmoulin" means "big mill" and indeed, with its total length of 370 mm it is a really big Windmillknife. The stainless and extraordinary wide blade has a bent curve of the cutting edge which corresponds to the continuing natural movement of the hand while cutting. The knife has wide, thinly ground and handpolished teeth of serration, the so called "Langersche Welle", one of the best serrations with a longlasting cutting ability which is reasoned by the special polishing. This knife is "blue-glazed" with a rarely found handgrinding technique. "Boscher" is the name of the blade's shape – in reference to a knife traditionally being used for sugar cane cutting in the Dutch colonies – and comes from the Dutch word "bos" meaning bushland at the sugarfields. The handle is made of Austrian plumwood, carefully formed and oiled by hand.
