The Sinus 87 ceramic inset sink was developed for ceramics manufacturer systemceram. Its characteristic design feature is its central drain in a circular bowl. Radiating around this core unit, every adjoining surface fulfils a special function. The main basin, draining surface, cutting/working surface and tap unit ridge are arranged in quarter-circle segments clockwise around this focus. The rear basin edge and the stepped draining surface create a slot for a cutting board that can be slid over the whole width of the sink. The cutting board or baking tray can be placed to dry against the wall behind the sink, held in place by a row of five ceramic bumps – a special code for the 50-cm size of the corresponding cabinet below.
