The HDR-HC3 is a digital High Definition camcorder. The designer fit the device configuration and lens barrel into an elliptical shape that lets the body be as compact as possible. This has also resulted in a general improvement in shape that is also easy to carry. In addition, the center of gravity for the grip was adjusted, allowing low-angle shots or long continuous shooting without placing undue strain on the wrist.
