Today, the rear license plates on all cars all over the world are externally illuminated. This is often less than satisfactory for both function and design, and it also greatly limits design options for the rear of the vehicle. The ILP integrates the legally required illumination into the license plate itself. It opens up new design possibilities for the rear of the car by allowing the license plate to be seamlessly integrated without the need for a special indentation.
