The VAIO Type UX series is compact, lightweight mobile PCs. To facilitate operation while holding the unit with both hands, the keyboard panel is made into a U shape raised on the left and right sides for a grip that delivers a good hold and operability. In addition, the display panel can be stowed away above the U-shaped keyboard panel using a slide mechanism, to achieve a more compact singleness of design. At the rear, left and right edges raise to improve the grip, and also double as a battery compartment.
