Speedglas™ SL (super light) for 3M is the world’s lightest welding helmet. By using a new and recyclable material the designers were able to reduce materials usage by 25% and the total weight by 35% compared with traditional manufacturing processes. This low weight means users do not need to tighten the headband as much, which can cause headaches. The new flexible headband can also be simply adjusted one-handed and includes a quick release button. Due to its shape and choice of materials the helmet is extremely durable. The shape protects the disposal outer glass and prolongs the clear vision and minimizes the need of changing glass.
