The “VAIO” P is a new variation on the “VAIO” P Series, the series of notebook PCs boasting even greater portability. The design features a solid-color matte finish that obscures fingerprints and scratches. Inspired by the rubber-like matte texture, the designer elaborated on the concepts of “softness” and “enfolding”, resulting in a design that wraps the black glossy display in vivid color. The strongly contrasting hue on the side emphasizes the thinness of the unit. Care was taken to conceal the hinge and jacks, which resulted in a flat and simple appearance with a less mechanical, friendlier impression.
