Vasorum’s AstraPlug is an arterial closure device which uses a biocompatible stainless steel implant to close arterial puncture holes after percutaneous catheter-based vascular interventions. The clean form of the device is a combination of mechanical requirements and Human Factors Engineering inputs. The three touch points have been identified through the use of a colored, tactile material that reinforces the simple and intuitive nature of the product. Colors and finishes have been selected to reflect the clinical nature of the environment in which the device is used. Mechanical safety precautions prevent sub-standard implant deployment.
