The “Dell Energy Smart Rack” is a specialized server rack enclosure that channels cold air flow directly from the air vent into the enclosure. This provides for more efficient cooling of the servers by avoiding ingestion of warm air from the data-center room and also results in lower energy usage. The rack is self-contained and can be deployed into existing data centers on a single rack basis increasing deployment density and reducing deployment cost. The all-glass front door with back-surface graphics seals the enclosure while leaving the servers visible. A special thermal label on the door indicates proper internal operating temperature.
