The properties of stiff and flexible materials have been combined in this transfemoral prosthetic socket in order to provide prosthesis wearers with a maximum of quality of life. This combination consists of the antimicrobial acrylic lamination resin “C-Orthocryl Sanitized” and the 2-component silicone “BetaSil”. The use of “C-Orthocryl Sanitized” is intended to protect the skin and prosthetic socket against a wide range of different microorganisms right from the outset. The silicone insert made of “BetaSil” offers the user a high damping capacity, has a high restoring force and makes it easier for the user to control the prosthesis.
